Hi,
I am in need of some advice. I am on first h1b extension with 2.5 hears left. I have an MS but was filed under eb3 with priority date of march 2005 (didn't knew about priority categories at that time). Now I am feeling a bit stagnant in my current job, but have always felt myself constrained thinking about restarting the GC process from zero. Given the current eb3 condition and my priority date what would you suggest I should do? Switch job, get a salary raise, restart under eb2 or continue doing whatever I do hoping eb3 will become current in some reasonable time and i'll be free ?

IV does not collect any identifiable information. The information is being requested is all about petitions that you had filed, which no way affects your privacy in my personal opinion. These information will help IV to slice and dice the data and present it to lawmakers when the need arises.
It is up to you to contribute to these efforts with clean data. I would suggest you to get a paid consultation from an immigration attorney until you become comfortable with IV, people and its forum

I have just finished my first year @ UCLA and I had absolutely no financial aid because I did not know anything about my status and when I read on fafsa about "parole" I thought it was a completely different category under which I was ineligible. My i-485 has been pending for 3 years now, with no sign of going anywhere yet :*(This year, I did not apply for FAFSA and I was forced to leave my amazing school and head to community college. I had searched and searched everywhere for information and I really did finally give up and thought to myself, " I guess I cannot receive any financial and am going to have to wait for my green card in community college."
I just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you!! From the bottom of my heart, I am sooo grateful to have found this site seredipitously!!!!!
I just pulled up the advance parole application and will complete it ASAP~!!!!!!!

While eating dinner last night, I noticed a pitcher and glasses set in our china cabinet and decided to try a studio shot. I used one of my wife's black dresses, hung from the light fixture over our dining room table, as a backdrop. The glasses are sitting on a lens and various bowls and cups to raise them to the levels I wanted. I used white poster board on either side to reflect some light. Light source is a single flash unit bounced off of the ceiling. Thoughts on what I could do to make the shot better, aside from spending $2,000 to buy studio lighting equipment?

If you have a valid I-797 document that shows the validity of your H1B visa, I believe you should not have a problem. Also,check with your lawyer about the same.
Since your I-485 will not get processed until your priority date is current, Once your wife is here on H4B, can you apply for her EAD? I'm in same boat as you but not yet married.

Here is my plan. Make as much dollars as I could. Stay as long as I could. Probably stay illegal for some years. No matter what , no other country has balls or guts to accept huge number of immigrants like US does, yes do you huge volume it is slow but the govt. is more aware of the fact that high skilled immigrants add to the benefit of their country compared to Canada (conservatives in liberal skin- because they have undocumented race based limitation), Britian(high skilled immigrants are usually colored therefore anything colored is considered not British) and Australia (how can a decent high skilled immigrant be accepted by bunch of outback thugs).
Please observe all these countries' immigration policies in this day of economic downturn, all of them are actively shutting their doors except USA (comparatively). I think USA is more closer for me as a home after India, I got misled by Canada but after what happened in their Alberta Province's AINP program for H1b holders I realised that Canadian pasture is really not green it is just an illusion.

I just checked my I140 approval notice and it shows LUD as July 28th 2007
I am totally confused as to why it shows that since my I140 is approved since a long time .
I have applied for 485 on June 29th 2007 and it reached USCIS TSC on July 2nd 2007.
Does the LUD on my I140 have anything to do with my 485 Application ??
Please advise ?

Go online and file AR11 right away, by giving out your pending case numbers you can update the address. After an hour or so, call USCIS customer service and verify whether the address has updated or not; also ask them to resend the card to your new address. You will receive a address change confirmation letter at your new address.

It is good to carry all possible documents. However for extensions they just check the I-797 along with the DS-156 and 157. They did not ask any other document. Hope this helped. Regards - MP70.

- Original EAD card
- The first lady asked me to bring the employment letter. I did not have it with me, I went home to get it and got in another line, that dude did not even look at it.
- Passport and I-94 (They did not check this) I took it just in case
- Cash - 25$
You will get a 5 year license, but it will say that you are a temp visitor till your EAD expires. You will have to take your EAD in when the new EAD comes in.
Let me know if you need further details.

Hello OP,
Here is what I did. I have mentioned some tips for you to save money:
Fly to Tulsa. There is tonnes of BUS service from Tulsa to Nogales(AZ). It is damn cheap..I think $10.00
They will drop you at the border. Walk to the other side.
YOU DONT NEED VISA TO GO TO MEXICO IF YOU PLAN TO STAY IN NOGALES ONLY.
I did get a visa but was told it is not needed. No one cares...you can simply walk over..no one will check either.
Cab costs anywhere between 7 and 10 to go to USA consulate.
There is a local bus like blue line in delhi that can take you there too. It is not worth it though. Chances are high that you will get your visa the same day. If not, you can rent hotel for anywhere between 30 and 50.
Take cab come back to border. Walk over...do the same immigration process like you would do at any airport.
Someone up there is right..be prepared to face atleast 150 to 200 Mexican H2 or H3 ...workers. This will be the longest part of your journey.
No need to get any mexican currency. They gladly take USD.
To use your cell phone, come to the border..its a regular within 50 states call from there....as soon as you go like 1 mile inside, you loose signals. Then it becomes international call.
Don't drink water there...drink beer.
