I got the paperwork from my attorney for my wife's 485 as they want us to be ready so that if dates are current, we just mail the paperwork without having to start at that time.
However, my wife is pregnant and i am not sure if medical examinations are possible. What are my options ?
Complete medicals without the vaccines, etc which cannot be taken during pregnancy. The Civil surgeon shoould make a note on the medical report that the applicant is pregnant and so medical is incomplete.
When your 485 is picked up for processing, an RFE will be issued and then she can complete the rest.

Can I change the employer after I get my 3 year extension on H1 ?
The 3 year extension of h1 also allows portability - so emp change is ok.
2) If I change the employer and If I transfer my H1, Will I get 3 years on my H1 based on 140 approval?
Yes - gc is a future job offer - ur previous 140 can be used for h1 status extensions
3) After switching to new employer, if I start the GC process all over again, can I keep my old priority date?
Yes - once u have an approved 140 ur pd can be ported to any new gc applications
4) I heard Gc process should be filed before expiry of 5th yr on H1 b, if i change my employer can i file for GC process in 6th yr and get furthur extension ?
there is no such requirement - i guess ur asking if u start the gc thru new emp in 6th year can u get extn? in this case u can use the old 140 approval and request 3 year extn, or if u get the new approval use that instead

I would say:
Merge all these threads into one - at least 3 or 4 people can take charge over the thread - the first few posts can be updates and tracking info and finalization of drafts and plans
Please encourage ONLY members who are committed, they can be ones who have posted real profile and who have joined state chapters - usually state chapter members are verified members.
It would be great if someone from IV core can also guide on such efforts

I agree that TANA & ATA are big organizations. But their focus is entertainment. And I heard that there is a lot of corruption. There are some allegations that people spend lot of money to become the president(or some other highest post). Who ever is competing for the highest post, they spend lot of money towards new membership program. they register all new members and ask them to vote for them. This happens just before the elections for the post. I do not think, people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars for new member registration with out expecting some thing back. Probably, there may be lot of corruption involved. I do not think, it is good idea of joining such kind of organizations. More over, there may be more organizations for each indian language in USA. Are we going to attach with all of them?

I have to be out of the country for almost a year, beginning August and until 15th of July.
To prepare for this I applied for my AP in June, thinking that it will take about 30-45 days to be approved. As Luck would have it, my AP was accepted in a week and now I have an expiry on it for the 1st week of June.
Here are my questions:
I still have 2 weeks before I leave for my trip, now is it advisable to apply for another AP this week and wait for it to come?
Will that application make my current AP invalid?
From what I understand, you need to be here in the US while you apply for your AP, but can travel on your older AP while this one is still in process. Is this correct?
Is there a chance for AP denial, and how does that affect the chance of an AP extension in Future?

Please consider signing up for monthly recurring contributions. It will be a big help to IV and we can plan our lobbying efforts in the coming months ahead of time.
It seems people will wake up only after they are stuck in the 485 and EAD backlogs and ask IV to do something for them. It will be too late by then. The more we get closer to the presidential election, the lesser chances we have to get any relief. Hope all members realize this truth.

Now that you have all your documentation, the biggest hurdle would appear to be that you didn't mention the DUI earlier. I would possibly go ahead and contact an immigration lawyer but i'm sure this is an issue which can be resolved without affecting your application.

Can anyone help me.
My I -485 status on line says my case has be suspended due to the rejection of my finger printing fee.
Meanwhile i received my finger printing notice eventhough my case was suspended.
My attorney responded to the billing notice and USCIS wrote (This Letter the uscis sent was dated Sept 17 th .)back to say that the check we sent was an overpayment because we proved to them that the initial check had been cashed.
The problem is that the status on line still is suspended. I called the TSC and the operator said the case is in their system.
What can i do to correct these conflicting messages.
Can anyone suggest what i should do

Thanks for the replies....Working voluntarily, does it mean that you need to work only in Non-Profit Orgs? in my case, I was wondering whether it is legal to work voluntarily when in an H4 visa for a Private Audit Firm and you audit their customers but do not take any pay of any kind from anybody till you get your H1-B in Oct?

I believe your friend and his wife will be fine. They have 180 day+45 day grace period...it is taking NSC quite a while to generate RNs so she will probably get the GC after FY2008 quota is effective in Oct

This memo was discussed extensively on this forum in the past and many lawyers have given their opinion.
Summary: You don't need to worry. As long as you are on AOS, you are authorized to stay in the country irrespective of your I-94 expiry date.
